Biography

Mayor Nic Allegretto grew up a salt-of-the-earth Midwesterner in southern Ohio where he had to walk to elementary school every day. Later, he attended high school across the street from a massive cornfield. From the age of 8, he spent summer breaks in Fort Walton Beach visiting his dad and grandmother. In 2001, when Nic was 20, he decided it was time make the Emerald Coast his permanent home.

Mayor Allegretto has resided in the city since 2010, when he and his wife, Ashley, purchased their home. They have two sons.

Nic spent 15 years as a radio host for local stations, including 99 ROCK, Z96, and Country 105.5 (now known as Nash FM). He cites two highlights of his time as a radio personality: co-hosting a morning show with his dad on 99 ROCK and broadcasting during Hurricane Ivan, which struck the Gulf Coast in September 2004.

Nic and his uncle Dan co-own Scooter Brothers on Racetrack Road.

In his spare time, our mayor the mayor admits he is a terrible basketball player but is quite a skillful sports watcher—whether in person or on television. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Mayor Allegretto strongly encourages citizens, visitors, and community neighbors to contact him with any ideas or concerns about the great City of Fort Walton Beach.
