The Growth Management Department has transitioned to a new online software system (MyGovernmentOnline) for the processing of Permits/Inspections, Planning/CRA applications, BTRs, and Code Enforcement cases.  


The Building and Inspections Division issues building permits reviews building plans, and inspects all facets of construction including structure, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, gas, fences, and signs. The Division ensures compliance with state and local land development and building codes.

  • All permit applications must be submitted electronically using MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) at MGO Website.  Contractors and Residents can submit applications and request inspections through the customer portal at MGO Website

Adoption of the 2023 Florida Building Code 8th Edition

Effective December 31, 2023, The Building Department will be operating under the 8th Edition (2023) Florida Building Code which includes Residential, Building, Existing Building, Energy Conservation, Accessibility, Fuel and Gas, Plumbing, and Mechanical, and the 2020 National Electric Code (NFPA 70).

 All plans submitted after January 1st must meet or exceed the updated code and all plans must include the statement “Plans conform to the 8th Edition (2023) FBC.”

The proposed date for the adoption of the 2023 Florida Building Code and 2020 National Electric Code is December 31, 2023.
