MISSION STATEMENT
The City of Fort Walton Beach has many programs and projects having the goal of enhancing the environment in which we live. One important aspect of our environment is the bay ecosystem and related surface water quality. As a Florida ms4, the City participates in the NPDES, or National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System, a state permit program in cooperation with the federal government for using Best Management Practices (BMP's) to manage stormwater runoff so that we can protect the Choctawhatchee Bay resources. Follow the link above for more information on the City's NPDES program.
