Country Club Traffic Study

Earlier this year, the Traffic Engineering Professor from Florida State University, Dr. Ren Moses, made an initial site visit to Kenwood and conducted a 24-hour observation of the traffic patterns, focusing on the cut through traffic from Lewis Turner Boulevard and Racetrack Road onto Country Club Avenue. He also performed drive through surveys of all of the roads within the Kenwood neighborhood to get a good feel for the other possibilities of traffic shifting if traffic calming devices are installed on Country Club Avenue and/or other roads within the neighborhood.

In the months following, numerous traffic monitoring devices were utilized to collect pertinent data on volume, speeds, etc. These devices include video monitoring equipment, license plate recognition equipment, traffic counters, radar equipment, etc.
