Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day 2011

The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center will participate in the fifth annual Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine on September 24, 2011. Museum Day is a day when museums and cultural institutions nationwide open their doors free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors. A celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge, Smithsonian's Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution's Washington, DC-based properties.

Attendees must present Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day Admission Card to gain free entry to participating institutions. The general public is welcome to participate by going to the Smithsonian.com website and downloading the Museum Day Admission Card. The Museum Day Admission Card is also available in the September 2011 issue of Smithsonian magazine.

Heritage Park & Cultural Center is located at 139 Miracle Strip Parkway SE. Museum operating hours are 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, and closed on Sunday. For further information please call 850-833-9595.

The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center is a community outreach division of the City and is committed to providing area historical educational programming.
