10.       RESOLUTIONS

10.1 RESOLUTION 2010-22. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING AN INTEREST BEARING ESCROW ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO INSTALL MAST ARMS TO REPLACE EXISTING STRAIN POLES ON STATE ROAD 85 (EGLIN PARKWAY) AT HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A LOCALLY FUNDED AGREEMENT AND A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE ENGINEERING & UTILITIES DIRECTOR TO OVERSEE THE PROJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Synopsis: Allocates the deposit of CRA funds to guarantee installation of the traffic signal system at the named intersection. (Engineering and Utility Services Director)

10.2 RESOLUTION 2010-26. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING DECLARATIONS OF OFFICIAL INTENT UNDER U.S. TREASURY REGULATIONS WITH RESPECT TO REIMBURSEMENTS FROM NOTE AND BOND PROCEEDS OF TEMPORARY ADVANCES MADE FOR PAYMENTS PRIOR TO ISSUANCE, AND RELATED MATTERS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Synopsis: Declares City's intent to secure funding of $2.1 million from the State Revolving Fund to complete the reclaimed water system. (Engineering and Utility Services Director)

 

10.3 RESOLUTION 2010-27. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA ACCEPTING FUNDING THROUGH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR ENHANCED INTERVIEW ROOMS; AUTHORIZING THE POLICE CHIEF TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AWARD AND OVERSEE THE PROJECT; AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Synopsis: City has been awarded $10,820 non-matching grant from the competitive grant program. (Police Chief)

13.       APPOINTMENTS

13.1 Police Officers' Pension Plan Board. Synopsis: Two Council appointments.  1.) Chuck Shoff seeks appointment for another term. 2.) Chris A. Johnson, Jr. has volunteered to serve on seat vacated by resigned Tony Carnathan. (City Clerk)

13.2 Appointment to Vacant Council Seat 6. Synopsis: Nominations made at the Council meetings of June 22 and August 10 are: Dean Covey, Bob Hudgens, Henry Kelley and C.H. "Bull" Rigdon. (City Council)

14.       ACTION-DIRECTION- DISCUSSION

14.1 Reconsideration of award for auditing services. Synopsis: It is the opinion of the City Attorney that the Council should reconsider the award of auditing services, reject all bids, and authorize the issuance of a new RFP for auditing services. (City Attorney)

14.2 Legislative Priorities. Synopsis: The Florida League of Cities has requested that the City provide its legislative priorities for the 2011 Legislative Session. (Mayor)
